Appaloosa

"Appaloosa sat in a short valley. There were hills east and west, allowing the wind to funnel in from the north and rip through the town, swirling dust as high as the rooftops."

 

Appaloosa is the main location of the entire series. 3 novels and the film set in Appaloosa. It is a fictional town who lies between St. Louis and Denver and between the Rockies and the Mississippi.

 

It remains unclear on which real city, Appaloosa is based on.

 

There is a bridge south of Appaloosa. Bridge camp was a construction site a day’s ride south of Appaloosa.

 

Allie's & Virgil's first house was burned down by Allie. After Everett and Virgil has returned from Mexico, they hired two german carpenter's, to rebuild the house. The second was a bigger house than the one Allie had burned to the ground during a cooking mishap.

 

Everett had rented a small alley room above a survey company on the south side of town.
